Top Summer Product Pick List
Summer seems to be a great time to release new products, and this year is no exception. There are a lot of cool things coming out this year so I thought I would take the time to give you a bit of a "heads up" on what I feel are the pick of the litter. Summer is a great time to release them because these items are HOT!
First up:
Projected release date: September, 2009
Yes, I know I work on a PC and I don’t own a Mac. But, this is not by choice. I was brought up on Macs and up until recently, that was all I ever owned. And so far, what they are promising with Snow Leopard is making me wish (yet again) that I owned a Mac. The ads claim that they have managed to speed up the OS by 45% and at the same time make it take up half of the disk space that the Mac OSs usually take freeing up about 6GB. This idea is beautiful! With Adobe programs demanding more and more space with every release, this kind of promise is a designers dream come true. But what I also like is that Mac spent the time to fix the little things that make every day life run smoother. Improvements were made to the Find feature, Quick Time, PDF previews, file sharing and even the disk eject. All in order to speed up your production and make your work day as smooth as possible. There is a lot more though so be sure to click the pic and read up on it.

What you are looking at in that picture is 43 inches of curved eye candy. This monitor was developed with designers in mind and because of that, has a color gamut with 100% coverage of sRGB and 99.3% coverage of Adobe RGB. It also has a 2880×900 pixel resolution and 0.02ms Rapid Response making it the fastest loading and sharpest image you could ever ask for, and positively drool worthy for any designer. The downside? It’s going to cost you about $8,000 to own. But, I have a feeling it would be worth every penny and if you click the pic you can do your own drooling. (Thanks Roux for telling me about it!

Doesn’t look much different than any other iPhone, except for the new fingerprint resistant coating that they finally added to the front. (Thank God!) But, the s in the new 3G-S model stands for speed. Apple caught on to the fact that the biggest complaint with the iPhone was that it took forever for it to do anything. Try to get some information "really quick" and forget it, you’d be out of luck. Surfing the Internet was just painful. But now, they promise that you can do things 4x faster with it’s new 7.2Mbps HSDPA. Also, you now have voice command, and video recording capabilities. If you’ve been waiting for the iPhone to get better, stronger, and faster before buying – wait no more. It’s here. And you can click the pic to find out more.
And lastly:
Released This Week!
How can I not include these little guys on my pick list? They are awesome! If you are a fan of this site then you will know that I am a huge fan of the Mimobot company. This week they released the highly anticipated Star Wars series 4 editions, and this time around, it’s all about the Dark Side. Clone Captain Rex, a new Darth Maul, and a Darth Vader where every one in six shows the classic white Anakin face that we all grew to love and fear from the very beginning. And the sound bite that comes with these guys is killer! Plug it in and a creepy dark voice says "Step in to the underworld." -eject it and you hear the same voice say "Get out!" But be warned – all of them are in limited supply and already going fast! So if you want one, click the pic to read more about them and find out how to get one.

Oh my gosh!!! I love the Star Wars drives! And that monitor is out of this world!
