If you happen to see someone running around the Photoshop World Conference at lightning speed, chances are you just caught a glimps of Scott Kelby’s assistant – Kathy Siler. And if you ask me. any woman that agrees to be an assistant to someone like Scott Kelby would have to be a real live Wonder Woman! And that is just what Kathy is to the NAPP Team.

So I am very pleased to announce that she is the next installment of the NAPP Interview Series!

Kathy “Wonder Woman” Siler

1. How did you come to be Scott Kelby’s assistant?

I answered an ad that wanted someone with Mac experience and thought, why not?  I interviewed on a Tuesday and started on a Friday and have loved every minute of it.

2. What’s a typical day like for you at NAPP HQ?

There is no “typical day” when you work for Scott, that’s what makes it fun.  Never a dull moment!

Really he is exactly how you see him at PSW or at seminars. I have a friend who tells me all the time “you don’t have a job, you just go to work and have fun all day.” Not true, it’s definitely work but we have fun doing it.

4. If you could turn the tables and have Scott be your assistant for the day -would you do it? What would you have him do?

Ha! I’d have him actually come in to the office. (He’ll get me for that one). Really though, he’s usually running in so many directions with travel, writing and teaching that a full day in the office as my assistant would be a vacation for him.

5. What part of your work as Scott’s assistant is your favorite? -from Erik Bernskiold via email

Hmmm, I think I’d have to say Photoshop World.  As busy as it is for us it’s also a lot of fun.

6. What’s the strangest thing that has happened to you while working with Scott? -from a NAPP Forum Member

The strangest thing probably happened recently. Can I answer this after the Orlando PSW? Can’t let the cat out of the bag early. LOL!

7. How does your work life change while at PSW?

It really doesn’t, other than location.

8. If you could trade places with any other NAPP staff member for a day who would it be and why?

I’d have to say Nancy.  Have you seen her desk?  It would be a blast just to play with the toys for a day!

9. If Scott gave you a week off for a vacation and a big fat bonus to do whatever you wanted with it – what would you do and where would you go?

Oh that’s easy – Italy with a one way ticket.

10. Do you ever worry that Scott will abandon his current lifestyle to really go raise miniature Shetland ponies? Would you offer to still be his assistant if he did?

Nope, But I’d talk him into it if I could. I love those little furry guys!
